Shilo Sanders Has New Opportunity After Getting Cut By Buccaneers, Gets Claimed By Same CFL Team That Also Claimed His Brother, Shedeur

It looks like Shilo Sanders won’t be without a job for too much longer.

Sanders, a safety who was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent during the offseason, was ejected after throwing a punch at Buffalo Bills tight end Zach Davidson.

That is never a good idea for an undrafted player who needs all of the playing time to prove that he belongs on the roster. The Buccaneers then waived him on Sunday.

If none of the NFL’s other 31 teams pick up Shilo Sanders, he could still have a future in pro football, just not in the country he was born and raised in.

The Toronto Argonauts, who play in the Canadian Football League, wasted little time adding Shilo Sanders to their negotiating list, via 3downnation.com. They had previously added Shedeur Sanders to the same list.

Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey told ESPN’s Adam Schefter they are still hopeful another NFL squad will claim Sanders off waivers before rosters are finalized.

Teams are busy making cuts this week to reach the 53-man limit by Tuesday.

Tampa Bay Bucs Head Coach Was Not Happy With Shilo Sanders

Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Shilo Sanders was ejected from the team’s preseason finale against the Buffalo Bills after throwing a punch at Bills tight end Zach Davidson.

Sanders was engaged with Davidson, who was blocking him, and continued to push the rookie safety down the field.

After Davidson delivered a final push to Sanders, the Colorado product took a swing and landed it.

Sanders was quickly disqualified from the contest, ending his short career with the Bucs because he would be cut the following day.

Bucs head coach Todd Bowles watched the situation unfold on the sideline.

He made his feelings clear after the 23-19 loss. “You can’t throw punches in this league, that’s inexcusable,” the coach said. “They’re going to get you every time. You’ve got to grow from that.”
